New officers are now in their respective positions after having been elected at our June 24th meeting – Congratulations!!!
Monthly meetings have resumed after our Summer break starting with the September meeting, which was held on the fourth Wednesday as scheduled, namely, September 23, 2009. The remaining meetings for 2009 are as follows: November 23 and, NOTE THIS CHANGE, December 30, the fifth Wednesday of the month.
I am going to try to have meeting reminder mailings sent out to our Assembly Council members.
As the new Columbian year gets further along, I will be providing more information in the Digest as well as on the website, as to upcoming events that you should be made aware. This includes the annual April exemplification of new members. I already have a few new membership forms filled out from prospective candidates, and I will continue to be out there recruiting. If you know any current 3rd Degree Knight in good standing, think about asking him if he would like to become a 4th Degree Knight – someone asked you to join, so please consider asking someone else!
Also, I need all JFK Assembly members to reach out to all existing 4th Degree Knights whom no longer participate in our meetings and ceremonials. This has already been discussed at our recent past meetings, and I am going to make this one of our priorities and one of my recurring themes: Bring all Sir Knights, whom are not active in our ranks, back into our midst and encourage all to participate.
Additionally, the Color Corp will soon resume/start having drills. Some of us new Color Corp members need the practice; some of the existing members may need some refresher courses.
Gentlemen, you chose to make a difference by becoming a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Please make every effort to attend our once-a-month meetings.
